What's in the box. 2x BL1830 3.0Ah Batteries. Makita 3Ah 18v LXT Battery & Charger Kit inc 2x 3.0Ah Batteries & DC18RC Charger. This kit contains 2x Makita BL1830B 18v 3.0Ah Li-Ion batteries with charge indicator LED and a DC18RC 18v quick charger. The Makita 18v 3.0Ah Lithium-Ion battery contains high energy density technology. Being Lithium-Ion, the BL1830B has no memory effect and is much lighter than other battery chemistries. Fits all Makita 18v Li-Ion tools. Battery has the Makita'Star' technology so if your tool also has a'Star' you can be assured of battery protection. The DC18RC is a compact size fast charger which charges Makita batteries from 14.4v to 18v. Only 22 minutes to fully charge a 3.0Ah Li-ion battery. The innovative computer controlled charging system provides optimum charge to each battery through the digital communication between charger and battery. The internal cooling fan keeps the battery temperature low for minimum charging time. BL1830B 3.0Ah Lithium-ion Batteries.

Charge indicator light - press the button for an update on the charge left. Long battery life, takes over 2,000 charges. 18v, 3.0Ah gives plenty of power. Fast charging - charges Li-Ion 3.0Ah battery in only 22 minutes.

Built-in CPU - gathers information from the battery's memory chip to determine optimum charging method. Forced air cooling fan - cools the battery to minimise charging time. Digital power display identifies the condition of the battery and charging condition. Makita's 18v & 14v batteries have a built in memory chip that records the battery usage history. While the battery is connected it will transmit the data to the charger.

A great advantage of Lithium Ion technology is that it provides the user with the possibility to charge the batteries anytime, without any need to wait for their complete power deployment. A great improvement compared to older technologies like Ni-Cad.
